Pater Noster Fyr

Pater Noster Fyr

Beautiful Lighthouses

Pater Noster Fyr, perched dramatically atop the rocky island of Hamneskär, is a visually striking beacon that has guided seafarers since 1868. This cast iron lighthouse, painted in vivid red and white, stands 32 metres tall and offers sweeping views of the Kattegat Sea. Its intriguing name, meaning 'Our Father', comes from sailors' customary prayers when navigating its treacherous waters. While it's been retired from active duty since 1977, its haunting charm remains, with stories of shipwrecks and maritime adventures echoing through its windswept corridors. The lighthouse is now beautifully restored, offering guests a unique glimpse into Sweden's nautical past.
