Bell Rock Lighthouse

Bell Rock Lighthouse

Scotland

Perched precariously on a partially submerged reef, this stunning lighthouse has been safeguarding mariners since 1811. With its distinctive red and white stripes towering above the tumultuous waves, it stands as both a marvellous engineering triumph and a striking beacon of safety. Often shrouded in mist, it appears almost ethereal, as though caught between sea and sky. Designed by the ingenious Robert Stevenson, Bell Rock Lighthouse was considered one of his greatest achievements. Its construction defied the intemperate North Sea, marking time with its steadfast presence, much like the mystical mermaids said to dwell beneath its watery foundations.
