My story is about meeting my now best friend, who lives 3700 miles away. Me and Jessica met via Slowly in January 2021, as 15 year olds. Jessica lives in the United States and I live in the United Kingdom. Slowly introduced us together. We would begin our friendship by sending letters to each other via this app as often as we could. Eventually after a year or so, we gained each other’s Instagrams. We never stopped talking to each other and our friendship became stronger with each year. A few months ago, we decided to meet up for the first time. She flew to the UK, and we spent the most unforgettable weekend together.
Meeting Jess for the first time was the best experience of my life. We went bowling, visited an aquarium and I introduced her to my friends and family. We both cried when we had to leave each other, once the weekend had ended. I’m planning a trip to visit Jessica for the 4th of July celebrations in America, in 2026. Our close friendship and the bond we have now is thanks to Slowly for introducing us. Slowly has truly given me a new perspective on friendships, and has shown me what a true friendship looks like. And that no matter the distance, there will always be an unforgettable bond that will never be broken. Thank you Slowly! ♡
