Hi Slowly!

I want to share my experience through this app. I’ve always loved the idea of having pen pals all around the world, but I couldn’t do anything about it because 1). It is hard to find one in real life and many people prefer instant messenger instead, 2). Well, economic reason because sending letters through post office to the other side of the world costs a lot.

And then I found about this app! It’s like finding Atlantis! I found a lot of nice people who share the same interests as I am.

Through this app I, now, can experience the joy of writing letters. Also, this app makes me appreciate time even more, since the delivery time depends on where the other recipients live. So, when they reply, I instantly reply to their letters because it takes time until I get the next letter.

I’ve found a good friend on this app. We share stories of how our lives go to each other. Not only that, we also talk about culture and art (sounds boring, but it’s not! Haha.)

I was the one who sent a letter first, asking him to be my pen pal. I wrote basic information about myself, like my name and age, and that I like drawing and writing. His reply came the next day because of the distance, and he said that he’d like to see my drawing and read my poems. After that, we shared more and more about ourselves.

At first I thought it’d be hard to find a good friend on this app, but now I have one! We have sent each other 27 letters in total (+1 incoming and still counting!). It always makes my day when he replies, and I’m impatient about it haha (because it takes a day for the letter to be delivered!) Even so, we haven’t talk if we want to talk on other instant messaging app. But I, personally, prefer talking on Slowly because it makes me feel that our friendship is exclusive haha.
