I downloaded Slowly after a friend’s recommendation and I didn’t think that sending / answering letters would become part of my routine. It’s amazing how we can connect with people from all over the world and share our cultures.
Being a girl with the dream of traveling the world, Slowly allows me to have contact with people and their stories, wondering what it will be like when I finally get to know that country.
I’ve never had an easy time making friends, feeling much more comfortable talking through the computer screen or cell phone so entering this community where you can meet people from different places without being afraid of being judged or misinterpreted helps me to be the person I would like to be but was not brave enough.
With Slowly I met a person who will listen to me (actually read) when I need to vent. someone who will show me the best books and films, as well as share an interest in architecture.
Brazil is known worldwide as a diverse country, where each state and region diverges from each other but when I compared the structure of my typically western country with the culture of my pen pals in Asia, the shock was surreal. Despite this, I share the same problems as a 21-year-old Japanese girl.
I hope to continue helping and growing with the Slowly community, making friends and sharing my stories.
