“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light”
(A. Dumbledore, Harry Potter)

I think this wonderful quote describe our year pretty good, doesn’t it? We all had hopes that maybe 2020 will become *our* year. That it will be better than any other year before, but I think it wasn’t for most of us.
Maybe some of us had many dreams which were destroyed this year, but isn’t it what to all of us happened? – You’re not alone!
But isn’t all this what this wonderful app called Slowly shows to us? That we are all in this together- no matter where we are from, no matter who we are, which gender, which skin-colour or which nationality we have- we are together and we can make everything if we just work together. And maybe it is a start for our generation to make this world to a better place, with a lot of respect, tolerance and love.

But why am I telling all this? Because this year I’ve get to known to many wonderful people from all over the world. Especially this one person will always stay in my heart. I’m just a normal 16 year old girl, who is placed somewhere in nowhere in Germany and I really was bored because of quarantine and I wanted to get to known to some other people from all over the world. But how will I do it when we aren’t allowed to travel? Of course we all have our phones and that’s how I found Slowly. I wrote many letters to people from all over the world ( Morocco, Canada, Turkey, …) I really enjoyed talking with all of them because it was pretty interesting to see how they live, but then one day I got a letter from this guy, who really changed my life. He is 18 year old, and life in Serbia. So we live like over 1.100 km apart from each other, but when I talk to him it feels like I’m sitting right next to him. He is so lovely and handsome I never thought that I could get so strong emotions for a person I just now over letters and chats ( we write on other social medias too, but we won’t let go off our letters! We just enjoy it to much to write them). I didn’t thought that my year would end as good as it is right now, but when he came into my life it changed everything- from the worse to the best. And I want to say thank you! Thank you for taking care that this grey cloud, who is over us all since covid-19 started, just fade away when I’m with you. I love you and one day when we will overcome this pandemic, nothing will stop us to meet one day!

What I wanted to show to all of you with this story is, that maybe it can be so dark around us but there is always a hope left that something will change very soon. Just try your best to search for your “light” in the darkness. It will be worth it to fight for it- trust me! Never give up even if it is hard to keep on fighting!

Miloš, my love. Thank you for changing my life! Thank your for being with me all the time no matter what. I can’t wait for the beautiful days, month and years who lay in front of us. I will always love you and carry you with me in my heart.

And a huge thank you to all of you who read my story! I hope you learned something from it and that you took it as a motivation for yourself!

Never forget – there is ever someone who loves you and take care of you, even if you think there isn’t. It is not true.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and I wish you good luck for your dreams and for your future.
