Perched on the Eddystone Rocks, 14 miles off the coast of Cornwall, this legendary lighthouse has a storied past as tumultuous as the waves that crash around it. The current lighthouse, with its distinctive fluted design crafted by John Smeaton in 1759, was a pioneering marvel, setting new engineering standards with its interlocking stone construction.
