This girl two thousand kilometers away, who just wrote to me, a total stranger, here on Slowly, became such a big part of my everyday life.

They have helped me to understand about my own cultural identity – my way of thinking, my way of life. I am a third-generation Nikkei from São Paulo.

Each letter were songs, stories, interesting questions and interesting nicknames developed into a beautiful friendship.

Politically there are no good relations but through Slowly I made some Indian friends. I am glad to have such a deep conversation with them.

Nowadays he sends me beautiful poems, I send him drawings and we build our friendship in beautiful paragraphs and colored pencils…
