The Gaita Colombiana is a traditional Colombian wind instrument, resembling a flute. Made from cactus stems and beeswax, it plays a key role in Colombian cumbia and porro music. There are two types: gaita hembra (female), which plays the melody, and gaita macho (male), which provides harmony. It's unique sound is central to Colombia's rich musical heritage.
