The Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall, is a sacred site located in Jerusalem, Israel. It is a remnant of the ancient wall that surrounded the Second Jewish Temple, destroyed in 70 CE. The Wall is unique for its massive stone blocks, some weighing up to 80 tons. Jews from around the world visit the Wall to pray and insert prayer notes into its crevices.
