A torii is a traditional Japanese gate often found at the entrance of Shinto shrines. Its unique structure features two upright posts topped with two horizontal beams. The torii symbolizes the transition from the mundane to the sacred. Some famous torii, like those at Itsukushima Shrine, appear to float on water during high tide.
