Slowly Story

In this era of instant communication, the world feels smaller than ever. As they say, this gigantic globe now fits right at our fingertips. It’s wild watching people connect through tiny microchips, conversing in the moment, exchanging words quick as a wink. And who am I kidding? They’re meeting up in person like some wizard just opened a portal for them.

But amongst these ‘making the world smaller’, Slowly comes in as a harbinger of yore, a relic of the ancient. Slowly is going against the tide, making the world big, as big as it should be, letting me visit the world of penpalling. It’s like Slowly has taken the driving seat of a time machine and is asking me, “Hey, want a ride? Hop on. Let’s travel through time.”

Alright enough Slowly talk, lemme tell you my story. You know, there is something in stillness; some ineffable pleasure like watching a loved one smile after a long time. There’s a pleasure in sipping the silence in this world of blazing fast discourses. Slowly, luckily, brings that pleasure to life. When you wait for someone’s letter to arrive at your doorstep and you cannot wait to tear that open and lay your eyes on ‘em and then circle back to your table. With a waving heart and utmost care, you write back to that person and wait for the next reply. Yes, the waiting, that is what, the exspectatio amoris. I enjoy that, I treasure that congeniality with the most dearest heart.

And Slowly? It is my homing pigeon, letting that happen. And I love my pigeon…
