To start this story, I have to tell that I don’t really have close friends in real life. Even though there are some people I talk to from time to time, most of those relationships feel pretty superficial, and I wouldn’t call them my best friends.
The reason I decided to install Slowly was simple — I was bored, and I wanted to find a way to communicate with people. I thought writing messages like letters might make it easier to have deeper, more meaningful conversations. That’s why I chose Slowly.
Since I like talking, I truly enjoy with people on the app. Surely, sometimes it takes patience to wait for letters from people who live far away, but honestly, I found that part pretty nice too. It gave me the chance to build friendships slowly and steadily.
Whenever I had worries or concerns, I’d write about them in open letters or ask my friends on the app for advice. They always responded with warm, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful words. The people I met were kind, understanding, and always willing to stand by my side. I think this kind of honesty and effort is rare in real life, because most people are afraid of risking their friendships by being too straightforward. But here, people really take their time to think deeply and offer sincere advice. Maybe it’s because of the anonymous nature of the app that it feels easier to open up like that.
Over time, I even made some besties — friends I can talk to about anything. They give me advice, which are right for me and send me considerate, comforting messages. I don’t feel alone anymore. Now I have people I can chat with whenever I want — when I’m bored, when I’m worried, or when I just need some healing words.
Downloading Slowly was just a random idea at first, but I’ll never regret doing it. I’m really thankful to everyone who took the time to reply to me sincerely and who shared a part of their life with me.
In the end, through this app, I’ve had some beautiful encounters that I’ll never forget. Just saying “thank you” doesn’t feel enough to express how grateful I am for Slowly and all the people I’ve met here.
