As the pandemic devastated many , myself included i was depressed , the feeling of loneliness confined to your own room , having no friends to talk to nor anyone to chat , so i ended up downloading a few apps only to find fake people who clearly had zero intention in pursuing friendships ,it left me shattered , being a sensitive person , the betrayals and the loneliness , it really broke me and it came to a point where i told to myself “maybe i was the issue ?” , then as was scrolling through , i found Slowly , reluctantly i gave this app a chance , as i opened this app what surprised me was the amount of people ready to write letters and meeting new penpals .
I nervously ended up writing my first letters , and the excitement i got when i got a notification , informing me someone has wrote back was incredible from then on we have shared moments of happiness and sadness , birthdays , even to some friendships leading to break ups but that’s part of life 🙂 , in the end i ended up getting ,very lovely people who have been with me since 2020 , its unreal we were in high together and today we have graduated and in university and soon to be working , the journey on this app , the close friends that i have met ,no matter what gender ,race , ethnicity, religion and skin color , they can only be given one word , “family ”
And so to anyone out there reading , i hope you manage to find the right person , and a big thankyou to the Slowly devs who created this wonderful app that has given me and many others here a life and hope that yes it is very much possible to find real life friends and people who have the same interests , this unique app has given many of us the freedom to write , vent and ramble about various different topics without getting judged or being pressured to reply early 🙂
