I joined slowly because I loved the concept of the app when I read about it. I’m genuinely interested in making friends around the world, and this is a great way to start!
One of the best people I’ve met on this app is a retired professor from Canada. He is 60 years older than me, and yet we can still find things to agree upon and share. It’s really a pleasure to hear about his perspective about things and gain some wisdom. And such kind of friendship wouldn’t be possible anywhere else. He has been a good friend ever since we started writing to each other and I’ve learnt a lot from him already. We can talk very openly , I don’t feel awkward talking to him about anything just because he’s older. I look forward to meeting him and other friends I’ve gotten to know on this app 🙂
Everyone I’ve met here is so kind and welcoming. My friends on slowly have helped me figure out how i want to identify myself in terms of gender and sexual orientation. My friends talk about philosophy and meaning of life , everyone here is just so poetic and creative.
Sure the letters take time to reach , but the quality of conversations we have is just nothing like on any other social media app, slowly is simply worth the time and worth the wait .
I’ve made friends from Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Israel, Sweden, Czechia and it has been a truly wonderful experience using slowly.
