The Berimbau is a Brazilian musical instrument with African roots, resembling a bow with a single string. It consists of a wooden bow, a steel string, and a hollow gourd which acts as a resonator. Traditionally used in capoeira—a Brazilian martial art—the Berimbau controls the rhythm and style of the game.
