A Pineapple Bun is a popular sweet pastry in Hong Kong, named for its golden, cracked top that resembles a pineapple. Despite its name, it contains no pineapple. It's typically made from a soft, sweet bread dough with a sugary crust on top. Often enjoyed fresh from bakeries, it can be served plain or with a slab of butter inside, known as a "bo lo yau."
