Yakisoba is a popular Japanese dish consisting of stir-fried noodles, typically combined with pork, cabbage, and carrots, and seasoned with a tangy yakisoba sauce. It is thought to have been inspired by Chinese chow mein and became widely enjoyed in Japan after World War II. Yakisoba is often garnished with aonori (seaweed flakes), pickled ginger, and mayonnaise.
