Kōtoku-in is a famous Buddhist temple in Kamakura, Japan. It is known for its Great Buddha statue, a large outdoor bronze statue of Amitābha Buddha. Standing at about 13 meters tall, this statue was originally housed inside a temple building, which was destroyed by a tsunami in the 15th century. Now, it stands majestically in the open air.
