Hallazgo del santuario de la mariposa monarca (“Discovery of the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary”) commemorates the finding of the monarchs’ main wintering sites in Mexico. In January 1975, researchers located huge colonies resting in high mountain forests in Michoacán, solving a long-standing mystery about where the butterflies go each winter.
