Farul Genovez

Farul Genovez

Beautiful Lighthouses

Tucked away in the Romanian port city of Constanța, the Genovese Lighthouse, though petite, is a charming reminder of the city’s maritime heritage. Dating back to the 13th century, it was commissioned by Genoese merchants, hence its name. Standing at just over 12 metres tall, its design echoes a bygone era, with robust stone walls and a distinct lack of modern amenities. Despite this, its simplicity and historical significance have earned it a cherished place among local landmarks. Legend has it that a secret network of tunnels once connected it to the nearby ancient Roman mosaic—though such tales are yet to be verified!
