Yağlı güreş, also known as oil wrestling, is a traditional Turkish sport where wrestlers, called pehlivan, compete while covered in olive oil. This unique style makes it difficult to grip opponents. It dates back over 650 years, with the Kırkpınar tournament in Edirne being one of the world's oldest continuously held sports events.
