First of all, I want to thank all the developers and users of this app. You have no idea how Slowly has changed my life. I am an introvert—or at least I used to believe 😉 For a long time, I found it difficult to engage with conversations, but thanks to this platform, I realized that talking to strangers isn’t that hard.
Although I am relatively a new user, I have already made many friends around the world. For instance, one of my pen-pals is from France and happens to be a logo designer. I have been thinking about launching my own brand, and his advice has been incredibly helpful. Also, I connected with a friend from England. When I told him about my plans to study abroad, he went out of his way to help me choose which colleges to apply to.
As you can see, Slowly helped me reach out to others and see what is happening in other people’s lives across the globe. Nowadays, you can watch the news, read comments, or ask for opinions on social media, but you won’t find a place to create meaningful connections. Most platforms feel rushed, but here, the “slow” nature of the mail makes every word count 😉
The letters I receive aren’t just a few paragraphs of text, they are each a story—a window into someone else’s reality. There is a unique sense of excitement in seeing a letter approaching and waiting for it to arrive. It has taught me the art of storytelling. I no longer feel like a stranger to the world, I feel like I am part of a global community of kind souls. Again thank you all, for everything!
