I really love Slowly because you can meet lots of nice people here, and I was happy with “just” that until I met him. He showed me that part of me lives in Italy, because he is my complement. Although neither of us believes in it, we are soulmates. He is the yin to my yang and I can no longer live without him. I wish every pen pal that they meet someone, just as I was lucky enough to meet him.
At first, we were just two acquaintances who happened to meet on Slowly and he was quite cheeky at the beginning. But that soon changed and we couldn’t be without each other anymore. In a letter, you can write down all your thoughts and are not pressured to hurry. You can search for the right words and communicate even if you don’t speak the same language. I’m very glad that our letters don’t take so long to arrive, although waiting for a letter is also very nice.
Among many other things, music connected us from the very beginning and we sent each other songs in every letter. I have never met anyone whose taste in music matches mine so well, and you can express so much with music, it’s great.
“Fate is when you meet someone you weren’t looking for and then realise that you never wanted anything better in the world”. I can’t think of a better way to describe it than this sentence.

You know, if you’re lucky in life, you’ll meet people for whom words never seem to be enough to describe your feelings. She is definitely one of those people. I’ll try to help you understand what she means to me, even though, as I’ve already said, it won’t be easy at all.
It all started with my response to her open letter: obviously, I couldn’t have known it then, but responding to her letter was one of the most beautiful and important decisions I’ve ever made in my life. I’ve been using this app for seven years, but I’ve never met a person with whom I’ve felt so connected.
Even though our penpalship began a few months ago, I feel close to her as if I’ve known her my whole life. We exchange letters daily in which we’ve discussed everything, from the most “trivial” things to the most important ones. With her, I feel like I can express myself freely, without fear of being judged or misunderstood. I think she knows me better now and can understand me better than some real-life friends.
Just the thought of not being able to hear from her even for a day makes me feel bad; she’s become an essential part of my daily life. We promised to each other that we are going to meet someday, without rushing things, just waiting for the right opportunity to come and I’m sure it will be an amazing cherry on top to what we’ve built together.
She’s an amazing mom, a strong, resourceful, and proud person. What I like most about her, however, is her honesty: when I had a problem, she didn’t try to be on my side at all costs; on the contrary, she told me honestly what she thought about what had happened to me and opened my eyes to see the situation from another perspective. I think this is a beautiful thing; often people are on our side just to “make us happy.” Very few people have the honesty to tell us what they really think, even if it might hurt us, but in my opinion, that’s exactly what a relationship needs to last.
I thank fate every day for bringing us together, I want to thank Slowly for giving me the opportunity to meet her, and above all, I want to thank you, Majalis123: you’re a special person, a beautiful soul, you’re like a lighthouse that shows me the way during a storm and I’m so grateful to have met you. Now I can’t really imagine my life without you.
