When I first joined Slowly, my goal was to make a few friends, but I’ve also managed to improve my German along the way.

I always thank any one who is actually taking time to reply, you don't really know how those words can lift-up your penpal moot !

Whatever is happening in my life, I can just write to her; it feels so relaxing I can't explain it.

It all started with a letter... But that letter was only the beginning.

I loved discovering what she wrote to me, I loved her words and her way of saying “goodbye” by sending hugs...

Together with him, I tasted things I had never tasted, listened to songs I had never heard, and discovered a country unknown to me.

I met someone from the USA—now a dear friend for over two years. He’s a beautiful soul, effortlessly authentic, and he taught me to believe in myself again.

In those moments that lasted an entire lifetime, she arrived in front of me, I hugged her and gave her the letter.

He accepts me for who I am. He has saved me again and again, pulling me out of the darkest valleys.

Little by little, I noticed I wasn’t just getting to know new cultures—I was rediscovering myself.

Time has passed so quickly that I find myself back in the moment when we first saw each other and hugged. We hugged and cried.

These two people will probably never meet each other, but in my mind, their words stand side by side like bookends holding up a chapter of my life.
