Pythagoras was an ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician who lived around 570–495 BCE. He is best known for the Pythagorean Theorem, which relates to right-angled triangles. Pythagoras founded a religious movement known as Pythagoreanism, which had beliefs in the immortality of the soul and the harmony of the universe. His teachings influenced mathematics, music, and astronomy.
