Thales of Miletus
Thales of Miletus was an ancient Greek philosopher from the city of Miletus, credited as one of the first to explore natural phenomena scientifically. He is considered one of the Seven Sages of Greece and is often regarded as the first philosopher in Western history. Thales proposed that water is the fundamental substance of the universe.
